Profile:
Kate Jones (nee Hadfield) was born and raised in Armidale and completed her HSC at Duval high School in 1994. Following an exchange to Japan she worked in hospitality in Sydney for a year before enrolling at UNE and returning to Armidale. She graduated from UNE with a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Marketing and Human Resource Management in 2000. After working as a Recruitment Consultant, Kate became a stay at home Mum for five years. During this time she moved to the UK with her family for 18 months. Shortly after returning to Australia Kate took up a part-time Marketing role at Macarthur Anglican School in Camden in March 2006. Within twelve months her role changed when she was asked to take on the new role of Director of Macarthur Foundation, which involved the development and implementation of philanthropic programmes.

Kate and her husband had often entertained the thought of returning to Armidale with their two boys and leaving the suburban lifestyle behind, so when the new role of Advancement Services Officer in the Office of Advancement at UNE came up, she applied and firmly crossed her fingers! Kate is overjoyed to have returned to Armidale with her family and is looking forward to working in Advancement at UNE.
